Description: This course focuses on contemporary health issues for college students including mental well-being, sexual health, inclusive health, nourishment & body image, and mindfulness. Students are introduced to the concepts, theory, and practice of college health promotion and peer-based health advocacy. In this hands-on class, students will: Learn concepts, theory, and practice of health promotion and peer-based health advocacy, develop leadership and cultural competency skills, create a comprehensive health promotion program, and then be eligible to apply to be a Peer Health Advocate Intern in the 2022-2023 academic year.
