Description: This course will involve students in the global interfaith movement through participation in the Parliament of the World’s Religions in Chicago from August 14-18, 2023.  The Parliament is the preeminent gathering of the worldwide interfaith movement.  Students will attend academic sessions, spiritual and religious practices in a diverse array of world religions and spiritualities, and cultural experiences including music, dance and art. They will network with scholars, activists, religious leaders and students from around the world.  This course will develop intercultural and interreligious competency through hands-on interreligious and intercultural dialogue, enable students to develop relationships with people from diverse religious and cultural backgrounds, and to engage in scholarly research on topics of global significance.  Students will be presenters at a workshop at the Parliament in conjunction with our partner the United Religions Initiative.  Pre-parliament prep work will be done online prior to the Parliament convening.
